Traveling to Australia

Covering over 3 million square miles, the world’s smallest continent also happens to be the world’s sixth largest country. Australia, also known as the “island continent”, is a fantastic place for a fun filled family vacation. From the amazing Great Barrier Reef to Mount Augustus, you are sure to find plenty of things to do in this outdoor lover’s dreamland.

Australia is a great place for a family beach getaway. There are tons of white sandy beaches to choose from with some of the most incredible surfing conditions available anywhere. Even on a tight budget you can still experience fantastic ocean views and magnificent beaches.  If you love scuba diving, Australia provides on of the best tropical diving adventures imaginable. No matter where you stay in Australia, you are sure to find a place that provides scuba diving tours.

Sydney has to be one of Australia’s most well known cities. Also known as the Harbour City, Sydney offers a huge variety of fun-packed activities for the entire family. A visit to Sydney Aquarium is a must for every family.

Discover where Nemo and his friends live in the world’s largest collection of Australian aquatic life.

The Sydney Opera House is a great site to see both inside and out.  As the most recognized building in all of Australia, you can take a guided tour of the history and skillful architecture of this amazing building.

Another great place that tops the list of thing to see in Sydney is Wild Life Sydney. You can get an up close and personal look at some of Australia’s creatures such as crocodiles, kangaroos, koalas and much more. From inspiring daily shows to walk-through habitats such as The Outback, Wild Life Sydney offers a unique adventure that can be found right on Darling Harbour in Sydney.

Other great family attractions in Sydney include Featherdale Wildlife Park, The Blue Mountains, and Fox Studios just to name a few.

When traveling to Australia, there are plenty of other sites to see outside of Sydney. Daintree Rainforest, which is located in the northeast region near The Great Barrier Reef, offers a wonderful experience in the most diverse rainforest in the world. There are plenty of hiking options but most hotels also offer bus tours to the forest.

If you would like to visit the western coast of Australia, the city of Perth offers many family friendly attractions. Cottlesloe is a great family beach offering quaint shops nearby.

Of all the major cities in Australia, Perth is known to have the most sunny days in any given year. This sounds like a great family beach vacation spot to me! Other attractions you should see when visiting Perth are King’s Park, the Perth Zoo, Fremantle and much more.
