When it comes to taking a trip to Massachusetts with the kids, there are plenty of things to do in Boston. One of my favorite places to visit is Faneuil Hall. There are tons of shops and boutiques with a little something for everybody as well as a huge food court with over 20 restaurants to choose from.
Also known as Quincy Market, this destination is great for learning a little bit of history as well as some great entertainment from street performances to live music. This is a great summer vacation destination since most of the activity occurs during the spring and summer months.
From there you can take a tour through history on The Freedom Trail. See the Paul Revere House and Bunker Hill Monument as well as over a dozen other historical sites. If you plan to walk the entire trail, be sure to bring your best walking shoes to endure the 2.5 mile trek.
If your kids are into baseball head over to Fenway Park for a tour of the stadium. Or better yet, take them to a Red Sox game! The tour is just under an hour and you can learn a little bit about the history of baseball.
If you are looking to supercharge your family vacation, take the kids to Six Flags New England in Springfield. It’s New England’s largest theme park and is home to some super fast roller coasters. If you are traveling with little ones there are plenty of rides for them too. Cool off in the water park and take a cruise down Adventure River or enjoy one of many cool water slides.
If you feel like hitting the beaches, be sure to head down to Cape Cod. There are over 100 sandy beaces from Falmouth to Provincetown with Craigville Beach and Sandy Neck Beach being two of the most popular beaches in Cape Cod. If you are planning to spend your entire vacation at the Cape, be sure to check out the cottage rentals right on the beach for a great memorable beach vacation!
A trip to Massachusetts wouldn’t be complete unless you made a stop at the Museum of Science. Check out the exciting shows at the Planetaruim and the IMAX Theater. Your kids can see science demonstrations, tons of interactive exhibits and much more. It’s not only for kids, it’s a great experience for the entire family!
